NATURAL DYE CLASS - Natural Dye Basics, Bundle Dyeing, and Eco Printing on Fabric 

Join us at the KOSA (arts) studio in Oakland CA where we will learn the basics of Natural Dyeing, Bundle Dyeing and Eco Printing on natural fiber fabric. 

In this class we will cover the basics of using plants as dye on cellulose (cotton, linen, hemp)  fabrics.

We will cover scouring (cleaning), and mordanting (prepping fibers to bond with plant color), prepare a dye bath with plant material, dye test swatches, bundle dye (using pieces of plants rolled up) a bandana, and eco print (making an impression of a plant) a hankie. 

This 4 hour class is hosted by Elaine Hamblin, Designer and Fibershed Producer in the new Dye Lab
